SANTEE, CA – San Diego Christian College cross-country hosted the Inaugural Hawks XC Invitational Saturday at the Walker Preserve Trail in Santee. All who participated agreed that the meet was a great success.  Head coach Jennifer Nanista-Stephens will look to grow the first-year event into a staple for the GSAC in years to come.

The Hawks women were paced by Isabella Arias, who placed 14th. The men were led by veteran David Gastelum who placed 17th in the 8k.

Injuries and travel restrictions caused by the pandemic have left the men's team shorthanded. However, one pleasant surprise came in the form of a first-time runner, Josh O'Campo. A member of the men's basketball program, Josh filled in admirably and finished second on the team, just 33 seconds behind the top Hawk time!
