[Cross Country] Runners Compete in SDSU Invitational

SAN DIEGO – Even with injuries and sickness going around the teams, the Men's and Women's Cross Country teams ran well Saturday morning in the San Diego State Aztec Invitational.

 

The women's team finished eighth while the men's team recorded no team score.

 

Three runners ran on the men's side in the 8K race. Joseph Bridgeforth finished first on the team with a time of 33:07.60 good for 21st place. Joey Holland was right on his tracks finishing in 22nd place and completing the course in 33:18.40. Alessandro Moriano capped the men's runners with a finish of 26th place and a time of 35:28.30.

 

Heather Borsos was the top runner for the women's team in the 5K race. Borsos finished in 39th place with a time of 21:30.70. Liliana Gomez-Garza followed in 53rd place with an ending time of 24:05.60. Next were Karla Camarillo (60th, 26:35.10), Savanah McGrath (62nd, 27:11.80), Kendra Chamberlain (63rd, 28:46.40), Julie Baker (66th, 32:31.60), and Amanda Wilkinson (67th, 35:57.40).

 

The Hawks will get much needed time to heal injuries and get healthier as their next meet isn't until Oct. 11 at the Vanguard Invitational.
