[Cross Country] Hawks Race in Cougar Challenge

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Men's and Women's cross country team competed in the Cougar Challenge hosted by Cal State San Marcos on Saturday as the Men's team finished sixth and the Women's team came in at eighth.

 

Finishing tops for the men's side was Joey Holland with an overall finish of 94th and a time of 31:13 in the 8K course. Eight seconds later, Joseph Bridgeforth crossed the finish line in 96th. Following them was Alessandro Moriano (103rd, 32:48), Juan Maffey (105th, 33:04), Roy Galvan (119th, 35:18), Maksym Zasadnyy (131st, 37:52), and Joey Rivera (143rd, 44:06).

 

Heather Borsos finished with the best time on the women's side with a time of 20:18 in the 5K course, which was good for 51st overall. Liliana Gomez-Garza was next in 81st and a 21:47 time. Karla Camarillo (112nd, 25:00), Amanda Wilkinson (135th, 31:28), and Julia Baker (137th, 32:34) rounded out the SDC runners.

 

The Hawks will run in one last tune-up meet at the Biola NAIA West Coast Jamboree next week before the GSAC Championships on Nov. 8.
