FULLERTON, Calif. – The men's and women's cross country teams competed in their first meet of the season at the Mark Covert Classic hosted by Cal State Fullerton on Saturday.

The men's team finished 14th out of 14th teams and the women's finished with no score.

Jose Nobles finished with a time 27:53.2 time in the 8K race, good for 75th place. His time was two minutes faster than the team's top time in the GSAC Championship last year.

Following Nobles, Dane Vega with a time of 31:36.2 and in 160th place. Gabe Lindblom was next in 165th place and a time of 32:02.9. Daniel Camacho (168th, 32:42.3) and Peter Gomez (180th, 40:15.4) rounded out the runners.

Michelle Morgan was the only runner on the women's side and she finished with a time of 22:34.6 in the 5K course. She finished in 72nd place.

Up next, the Hawks will run in the Vanguard Invitational this Saturday at 9 a.m.
