SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Michelle Morgan finished 12th overall, earning All-GSAC status and Ohj Nobles finished in the top 30 as the SDC men's and women's cross country teams competed in the GSAC Championships hosted by The Master's Saturday morning.

The women's team claimed the fifth spot, the best in program history, beating the previous best of seventh. Morgan was named to the All-GSAC Team, which was also a first in the program's history. She finished the 5K course compiled of mostly hard packed dirt with a time of 19:23.9., a personal best.

Samantha Campos followed with a time of 21:37.1, good for 29th. Jessica Taylor (23:37.1, 37), Serra Collins (25:46.7, 43), Viviana Aguilera (25:58.4, 45), and Desiree Alvarez (26:03.7, 46) rounded out the runners for the women's side.

While the course consisted of two loops on the women's side, the men added an extra loop for their 8K race. Nobles was the fastest for the Hawks, finishing the race in 28:27.1. Demetrius Murray came in 41st, a minute and a half after Nobles. Daniel Camacho completed the three loops in a time of 30:50.6, good for 45th. Dane Vega (32:05.7, 47), Peter Gomez (34:35.6, 52) and Aidan Bercheck (35:03.2, 54) completed the race on the men's side.

"I was very pleased with how the teams went out and competed, " head coach Jennifer Nanista said. Michele did a fantastic job putting herself in a position to potentially go to nationals. Everyone on the women's team ran a personal best. Special shout out to the women's soccer ladies who ran to help the team finish the best ever. 

On the men's side I was happy with the determination everyone showed, especially with Demetrius in his first ever run and finished in second on the team."
